![]() Hi everyone! I have some exciting news!!! I had my first television interview on Sunday night! I was on my local access channel, VCAM, channel 15. I was interviewed by Cathy Hartley on her program, Art Break. We are both kind of beginners at the whole TV scene. But... we had fun and we look forward to doing it again! I have been told that it was pretty good! It was strange. I wasn't nervous all week prior to the interview. Then, that night, I was really nervous. I am thankful that Cathy did a great job at calming me down. I appreciate it! Yes... I was still a little nervous, but not nearly as much! On the show, I talked about my children's books: "Clarinda Cloud," "Clarinda Cloud Activity Book," and "Johnny's Adventure Makes Reading Fun." Our discussion led to their educational and psychological value. I also talked about my passion for education and my educational site, DUO Education. And, of course, I talked about some of my pages and services on the DUO Education site, such as: "The Storyteller's Tale webinar series," "Online Tutoring," and the "DUO Education Learning Blog." If you are local to Vermont and happened to see it, please leave me a comment or contact me! If you didn't see it, I am hoping to get a DVD copy and then figuring out a way to post a copy or a blip of it on some of my sites. So...stay tuned on more information on that! I want to thank Cathy for having me on her show! Also... if you are a local artist, author, musician, etc. you can contact Cathy about being on her show by emailing her at artbreakvt@gmail.com. Those who have read Time and Again know that Abby Thomas is a college student on a summer service project with 11-year-old Merri. And they know that the summer is not going the way Abby had expected—but in a good way. For one thing, she meets a very nice guy named John Roberts. And for another, she discovers a strange computer program called Beautiful House that lets her fast-forward and rewind life. Not her own, of course, but those of the people who lived in Merri’s old house. And now Beautiful House comes in handy when Abby, John, and Merri agree to help the “Old Dears” next door with their family tree. Except Abby and John learn more about one of the ladies’ ancestors than they ever wanted to know. Convicted in 1871 of murder and arson, Reuben Buchanan is a blight on the family’s reputation. But was he really guilty? Abby and John must get inside the mind of a murderer to find out. And while they’re rummaging around in the Old Dears’ family history, they also find Nathan Buchanan, a heroic relative connected to the Lewis and Clark Expedition—and a legacy waiting to be reclaimed. But the most important discovery they make is that God’s promise to bless a thousand generations is true. “In this sequel to Time and Again Deborah Heal has taken pieces of real life history and woven them [into] a fantastic story geared to keep the reader entertained and on the edge of their seat… I adored every single bit of this. It has the perfect blend of history and action-packed suspense to keep young adults glued to the pages… I think she has mastered a home run here. This one easily rates a 5 out of 5 stars for me…and I hope it will work its way to the top of the best seller lists for young adults.” – Pirate2240 “Kat” Amazon Reviewer Connect with Deborah Website: http://www.deborahheal.com Facebook Author Page: http://www.facebook.com/DeborahHeal Twitter: https://twitter.com/DeborahHeal ![]() The Clue of the Unclaimed Legacy by Deborah Heal The blurb above doesn’t say a lot about it, but Unclaimed Legacy features my heroes Lewis and Clark. I’ve always been fascinated by them, partly because I knew the explorers spent the winter of 1803 at Hartford, Illinois, near where I grew up in Woodburn. They chose that site for the camp they called Camp River Dubois, because it was near the mouth of the Missouri River, which they would ascend the next spring. The captains spent the winter laying in supplies and training their men. I decided it would be fun to let Abby “time-surf” back to see Camp River Dubois. . . Continue reading HERE to get more clues about Unclaimed Legacy. As the blurb says, sometimes when Abby and John are “time-surfing” they learn more than they want to know about people from the past--like Bertram White a violent husband. Both "Johnny's Adventure Makes Reading Fun" and "Clarinda Cloud" will be free on September 3rd and 4th on Kindle. This is a promotion to try to get bring awareness to me as an author and to my books. As a relatively new author, my name is not widely known. Yet, I seek to change that. Authors are in a unique profession where after long, hard work of writing, editing, formatting, promoting, marketing; that products are often given away for free or greatly reduced, just to gain awareness. It doesn't seem fair. Yet, that seems to be an industry norm. Please, if you like a book... mine or anyone else's...tell a friend. Help spread the word. Maybe write a note to the author. Write a review. Share the author's posts about their work. Talk to your local library and book store about carrying the book. Talk to schools, libraries, and book stores about author visits. Reading is important! I hope you enjoy my books! Thank you! ![]() Here is an update since I started writing this post yesterday. This giveaway is my most successful yet. I also got a kind review by a few people. I would like to feature this one by author Lorieen D. Henry:5.0 out of 5 stars Identifying Feelings September 3, 2013 By Author Lorieen D.
