It is strange. I am not a fan of fantasy or science fiction. I enjoy some historical fiction, but don't usually set out to read it.
Yet, there are days when I feel like I have been born in the wrong time period. LOL! It is usually on days when things aren't going so well in this time period. Sometimes it was just daydreaming for fun.
Most of the time, I have thought about being in this same land. Although, sometimes it was back before the white man came to America. I have thought about being a Native American. I admire how they lived off the land, didn't waste things, and were at peace with nature. I even enjoy the idea of wearing animal skins and fur for my clothing.
Sometimes, I think that I would have liked to be alive during "Little House on the Prairie" times… which I think is like the mid-1800s. Times seemed simpler. And, I always enjoyed the idea of wearing long skirts. I have some today too! And, families seemed to be closer back then. They supported each other. (Some families still have that today. But…I think it was more of a necessity and way of life back then.)
In both time periods, there was more country and less city. Times were much simpler. People were closer to the land and to nature. They were also closer to each other.
I have had some wonderful thoughts and daydreams thinking of such things. Although, I would also ask myself if I would have been able to survive back then. Times may have been simpler, but some of the matters were more life and death. There weren't the luxuries we have in this spoiled world today.
I usually conclude that God knew to which time period I belong. So, I can be thankful and leave it at that.
Have you thought about living in another time period? When? Where? Doing what? Would you have been able to survive? Are you too spoiled today to be able to deal with the way it was in the past? I would love to hear your thoughts and read your comments.
